Over the past week, Loyola College had the privilege of hosting students and staff from our Indonesian sister school, St. Laurensia. Since the inception of this exchange program in 2004, our partnership has continued to strengthen, providing students with invaluable cultural and educational experiences.

During their time with us, our guests left a lasting impression on both the college and our wider community. They brought the richness of Indonesian culture to life with a captivating traditional dance performance and immersed themselves in the Loyola experience, gaining first-hand insight into student life. Embraced wholeheartedly by our community, they were welcomed into the homes of our families—many of whom found it hard to say goodbye.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Loyola staff and families whose generosity and hospitality made this exchange so special. Your willingness to open your hearts and homes exemplifies the spirit of our college community and reflects the Ignatian values of cura personalis and walking with others. Through your kindness, you have not only enriched the experience of our guests. but also deepened our shared understanding of culture, connection, and service.

As we reflect on this enriching experience, we eagerly look forward to completing the exchange by visiting St. Laurensia in Indonesia during the upcoming spring holidays. This long-standing partnership continues to foster global understanding, lifelong friendships, and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity.
