Congratulations to Rachael Patrick who has recently been announced as one of the best educators in Australia courtesy of The Educator Australia's annual Hot List!
Rachael has been recognised for her outstanding innovations in curriculum design and responsive pedagogies. Her specialisms include developing unique, 'best practice' learning sequences that tap directly into her students' values, as well as identifying and addressing areas of need in the curriculum while confidently building student skillsets for engaging discerningly with the world beyond the classroom. Both students and colleagues whole-heartedly commend Rachael for generosity of spirit and genuine care as she helps them to reach beyond their own expectations of themselves and achieve more than they realised they would be capable of otherwise.
In reflecting on her achievement, Rachael remarked: "Being acknowledged on the 2023 Hot List is such a proud moment for me personally and I am truly grateful for the recognition that the Hot List brings to my vision and passions in educations. But this also affirms the values and human-centred learning philosophies that we live out on a daily basis here at our school."
The Educator received nominations for the ninth annual Hot List between 17 July and 11 August. The magazine obtained details of the nominees’ achievements and contributions to the profession. Nominees were evaluated based on the overall impact of their work in the K-12 education sector over the past 12 months, demonstrating expertise in linking theory and practice, and designing and implementing innovations that provide students with high-quality educational experiences.
Congratulations Rachael!
